Restylane and Juvederm are trade names for "fillers" composed of hyaluronic acid, a component of the dermis of the skin. These fillers are injected beneath a wrinkle to "plump up" or fill the wrinkle, which smoothes or eliminates it. A simple, office-based, injection procedure, this requires only topical anesthesia (a numbing cream) and only minutes to perform. It's effect is immediate with very little chance of bruising. This product is not permanent. As it is slowly metabolized by the body, touch-ups can be performed at any point, months later.
